Three colleagues represented our company and we are very proud of their amazing performance.
Petr and Tomas ran the pairs relay and took a wonderful 2nd place! It must be added that they missed the first place by an incredible 18 seconds! What was their strategy and how do they evaluate the race?
"The beginning was quite difficult because of the large number of runners entered. So the key was to get to the front quickly right at the start to be in the best position to pass the baton," explained Peter, who started the race. "The race was hampered by the very warm and sunny weather, which affected not only our performance but also the performance of all the runners on the course," added Tomas. "We are very pleasantly surprised by our result, we definitely did not expect such a place," both runners evaluated their performance.
Michal, our new addition to the grind, ran the quarter marathon and took a fantastic 3rd place out of 406 participants in the quarter marathon! He was even declared 2nd in the Men 30-39 years old category! And what did Michal have to say about the race?
"It was my first 10.5km race at race pace, so my fears were high. The big question was to choose the right pace. The temperature was high and I tried to follow the advice of my experienced friend Radek - run with half marathoners or African women, they could have a similar pace. And it worked! The first 2.5km was too fast, but then it slowed down and I ran with the Kenyan girls to the finish."
